Carolina Ethanol Partnership (CEP) is a research group of scientists and businessmen engaged in alternative energy development. Started in 2008, CEP has been working to create a new method of producing clean energy that works to overcome the economical and environmental challenges historically associated with alternative energy use. CEP is redefining alternative energy by simply changing the way we think about it. Energy is easy. It’s not complicated because we’ve already got a resource that works. That resource is the sun, and it supplies the Earth with trillions of joules of energy every second. With such an ample supply, CEP is developing a way to cost-effectively utilize solar energy to provide energy commodities. CEP intends to produce ethanol through fermentation of sugars created during photosynthesis, and although fermentation is nothing new, CEP’s process is unique in that it’s radically more productive than traditional methods. Our new 3rd generation biofuel process uses no food or farmland, and has a very high energy balance. With sustainability in mind, we hope to provide ethanol to the Carolinas for years to come.
